Kortastipidkor Polri Ready to Face Pretrial Lawsuit from Former Jampidsus

The Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) has stated it is prepared to face a pretrial lawsuit from former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. Febrie’s legal team has the right to file a pretrial motion as stipulated in Article 1, point 15 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

‘Kortastipidkor Polri is ready to face the pretrial lawsuit,’ said Head of Operations for Kortastipidkor Polri, Commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, to the media in Jakarta on Tuesday (4/8/2026).

Yusuf explained that Article 1, point 15 of the KUHAP provides limitations on who may file an objection through the pretrial mechanism, namely the suspect or their family, the victim or their family, and the reporting party, advocate, or legal aid provider authorised to represent the legal interests of the suspect or victim. His unit is prepared to address this.

‘Thus, in principle, the pretrial procedure is intended for individuals or parties who have a direct legal interest and connection to the object of the pretrial,’ Yusuf stated. Febrie’s camp plans to file the pretrial lawsuit in relation to his designation as a suspect by the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police Headquarters.
