Kortastipidkor Police: Bribery and Gratification Suspects to Be Announced Soon

The Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) has revealed findings from searches conducted in a bribery and gratification case being jointly investigated with the Metro Jaya Regional Police. Although a number of items have been seized and a series of examinations carried out, investigators have yet to name any suspects and are still tracing the origins and links of the discovered assets to the alleged criminal acts. Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Bhudi Hermanto stated that investigators require more time to complete the inquiry thoroughly before announcing who will be held criminally responsible. “We will announce the suspects in this case at a later stage. Currently, our investigators are still conducting in-depth examinations. We should all respect and give space to the investigators to complete their duties comprehensively and thoroughly,” Bhudi said during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police headquarters on Friday (10/7). He noted that the announcement of suspects would be made in the near future once all evidence is deemed sufficient. Bhudi further explained that investigators are currently strengthening the evidence related to the ownership of a house that was searched. “Investigators are also still examining three clusters of the case related to the evidence found,” he said. He stressed that all the money and valuables displayed during the press conference must still be proven to be connected to the criminal acts under investigation, including the possibility of money laundering. “The money found and placed before us will undergo evidentiary proceedings regarding the criminal act. Whether there is an element of money laundering is still in the process of being proven,” Bhudi stated. Nevertheless, Bhudi expressed optimism that all ministries and agencies would support the anti-corruption efforts, which remain a government priority. “We are confident and believe that all ministries and institutions will certainly support the eradication of corruption. We will continue to synergise and collaborate in resolving corruption cases,” he said. Bhudi reiterated that the identities of the suspects would be announced as soon as the investigation process is considered complete. “In the near future, we will announce the suspects in the case handled through the joint investigation between Kortastipidkor and the Metro Jaya Regional Police,” he concluded.
