Moreover, the training is a crucial component in supporting air infiltration and special operations capabilities, which are key strengths of the TNI AU elite forces.

Pontianak (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Air Force’s Korpasgat has enhanced troops’ combat capabilities and operational readiness through freefall parachute training conducted at Supadio Airport in West Kalimantan.

‘Personnel from the 466th Korpasgat Battalion and 15th Air Defence Artillery Battalion (Pasgat) used NAS-332 Super Puma helicopters from TNI AU’s 6th Air Squadron for the exercise,’ said Commander of the 466th Korpasgat Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Adim Dwi Prasanda, accompanied by Commander of the 15th Air Defence Artillery Battalion (Pasgat), Lieutenant Colonel Erean Hidayat in Sungai Raya on Monday.

He explained that the freefall training was conducted during flight breaks to avoid disrupting air traffic at Supadio Airport, with the entire exercise carried out to high precision and strict military discipline.

Through the training, troops honed their combat instincts, improved landing capabilities under varying weather and wind conditions, and ensured equipment readiness and air operation safety procedures.

‘Furthermore, the training is vital for supporting air infiltration and special operations capabilities, which are key strengths of the TNI AU elite forces,’ he added.

Korpasgat TNI AU stressed the need for continuous personnel readiness to meet challenges in air defence and military operations on the ground.

‘The freefall displays at Supadio attracted public attention, reflecting Korpasgat troops’ readiness and combat capabilities in safeguarding the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),’ he said.
