Korpasgat builds closeness with the people through 'Blessed Friday'
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Soldiers from the Indonesian Air Force’s Rapid Response Corps (Korpasgat) are strengthening their closeness with the community through the ‘Jumat Berkah’ (Blessed Friday) programme organised by the Brigade Parako I Pasgat.
Today’s ‘Jumat Berkah’ activity involved distributing food packages and ready-to-eat meals to residents in Gedong Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, on Friday.
‘Through this Jumat Berkah activity, we hope to help ease the community’s needs and strengthen the bonds of friendship between Brigade Parako 1 Pasgat soldiers and the local residents,’ said Commander of Brigade Parako 1 Pasgat, Colonel Pas Helmi A. Nange, when confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.
According to Nange, the presence of Korpasgat troops within the community must provide a positive impact and benefit the residents. Not only in terms of providing a sense of security, the presence of Korpasgat troops must also influence the improvement of residents’ quality of life.
Therefore, Nange stated that his party implements the ‘Jumat Berkah’ programme consistently so that more people can receive assistance from Korpasgat troops.
He added that this ‘Jumat Berkah’ activity was not only carried out during his tenure as Commander of Brigade Parako I, but has been ongoing since he served as Commander of Battalion Parako 461 in 2019. Since then, he and the Korpasgat troops have routinely provided food assistance to several areas under Korpasgat’s guidance in Jakarta. Nange and his troops also occasionally provide assistance to rural areas in need.
‘In essence, the target is truly those who are in need,’ Nange explained. Through this activity, Nange hopes to create a harmonious relationship between the Korpasgat of the Indonesian Air Force and the community.
