Korps Lalu Lintas (Korlantas) Polri will implement digital-based traffic management measures including one-way and contraflow systems on toll roads during the 2026 Eid holiday exodus period. Korlantas will ensure that all traffic flow engineering during peak holiday travel and return journeys will be determined through real-time data monitoring.

Head of Korlantas Polri, Agus Suryonugroho, confirmed that the organisation has prepared a technology system to manage vehicle congestion during the 2026 Eid period. “Korlantas Polri uses digital technology when conducting traffic engineering management, including flow diversions, security measures, contraflow, national one-way systems, and so forth,” said Agus in a statement on Sunday (1 March).

According to him, policies such as national one-way, partial one-way, and contraflow will no longer be based solely on estimates but will reference parameters and real-time traffic data updates from the field. “The system we have built is based on data and real-time technology to ensure smooth holiday travel. The state is present to ensure safety in terms of crime and smooth traffic flow,” he said.

Agus explained that the digital system enables comprehensive monitoring of vehicle flow, allowing traffic engineering decisions to be made more quickly and with greater precision. He added that national one-way and partial one-way systems will be adjusted according to current conditions on toll routes, with contraflow only implemented if specific parameters are met.

“We will implement national one-way or partial one-way systems in national one-way areas and we will also conduct contraflow traffic engineering,” he said.

Through this technology-based approach, Korlantas hopes that the 2026 Eid holiday exodus and return journeys will proceed more safely, orderly, and with minimal congestion.
