Korlantas targets ODOL vehicle handling to be completed by 2027
Jakarta — The Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (Korlantas Polri) is targeting a comprehensive resolution of over dimension and overload (ODOL) vehicle handling by 2027, through a road map prepared jointly with the government.
“Hopefully by 2027 we can resolve ODOL comprehensively,” said Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho at the 2026 Rakernis Fungsi Lalu Lintas Polri, held at the PTIK Building in Jakarta on Friday.
He said the Ministry of Transportation is currently preparing the ODOL road map. In addition to ODOL handling, Korlantas Polri is also transforming the Indonesia Safety Driving Center (ISDC) to improve driver quality and discipline.
“We have been training gradually at the ISDC in Serpong so that drivers are truly obedient, orderly, and compliant with traffic regulations,” he said.
He hopes the 2026 Rakernis Fungsi Lalu Lintas will become a strategic forum to unify visions, strengthen coordination, and evaluate the implementation of duties among stakeholders.
“We hope to present strategic programmes to unify visions, strengthen coordination, and formulate policy steps that are more measured, data-based, and oriented towards public service,” he added.
Several officials attended the event, including Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Chair of Commission III of the DPR RI Habiburokhman, and Chair of the MKD DPR RI Nazaruddin Dek Gam. Also attending were Korlantas Polri stakeholders such as Jasa Marga president director Rivan A. Purwantono, Jasa Raharja president director Muhammad Awaluddin, and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) president director Achmad Muchtasyar.
