Korlantas prioritises humanist approach in 2026 Compliance Operation
The 2026 Compliance Operation must be different this year. The public should comply not out of fear of officers, but through an awareness of the importance of order and safety on the road.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is prioritising a humanist approach in the implementation of the 2026 Compliance Operation, which will be held simultaneously across Indonesia from 8 to 21 June 2026.
The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that this year’s operation focuses on increasing public awareness regarding the importance of traffic safety and order.
“The Compliance Operation this year must be different. The public should comply not because they fear officers, but because of an awareness to be orderly and safe on the road,” said Agus in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to him, the primary objective of the Compliance Operation is to reduce the number of traffic violations, traffic accidents, and accident fatalities.
“The main goal of Korlantas’ duties is to reduce traffic violations, reduce accident incidents, and reduce fatalities,” he added.
“We hope that this Compliance Operation will have a positive impact on increasing public compliance in road traffic,” he said.
Through the 2026 Compliance Operation, Korlantas Polri hopes that public awareness of traffic order will continue to increase, thereby suppressing the number of accidents and fatalities on the highways.
