Korlantas Polri Implements National One-Way System on 18 March
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) will implement a national one-way traffic system on Wednesday, 18 March, during the sixth day of Operation Ketupat 2026.
“I have coordinated with the Minister and the toll road operator director that the peak homecoming rush is estimated to occur on 18 March. So, on 18 March between 10am and 12pm, we will implement a national one-way system for the outbound surge,” said Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho at the KM 57 A rest area on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Monday evening (16 March).
“When the traffic accounting technology infrastructure can manage it, it may also be possible to change to a national one-way system or a partial one-way system in the first phase, which we will announce accordingly,” he added.
Regarding whether the national one-way system would also be applied during the return journey, he stated that this had not yet been decided.
“We will reassess the return traffic situation later. However, at present, traffic conditions are relatively manageable,” he said.
Based on evaluations and coordination with various parties, the peak homecoming rush is estimated to occur on 18 March. However, if congestion parameters are reached earlier, the traffic management scheme will be implemented sooner.
Agus explained that a first-phase one-way scheme would be implemented from kilometre 70 to kilometre 236. This scheme is an expansion from the previous year, which only extended to kilometre 188.
“If congestion continues, the scheme will be immediately extended to kilometre 414,” he said.
