Korlantas Polri Digital Driver's Licence Launched in 2026: Activation and Fee Details
The era of vehicle document digitalisation enters a new phase. The Korlantas Polri has officially launched the Digital Driver’s Licence as part of its technology-based public service transformation during the 2026 Traffic Function Annual Meeting in Jakarta. The innovation allows holders of Class A and C driving licences to store their driving credentials within the Korlantas Polri Digital app. “In future, the validity of driving licences will rely on server data rather than physical cards alone. This will enhance efficiency and minimise the risk of forgery,” stated Korlantas Polri’s Director of Traffic and Registration, Brigadier General Wibowo (30 May 2026). A key feature of the Digital Driver’s Licence is the dynamic barcode. The QR code displayed on mobile screens automatically refreshes every 10 seconds, ensuring that presented documents are real-time valid data and not screenshots or manipulated images. Additionally, the app includes face recognition technology with liveness detection. Users must perform direct facial verification to access SIM data, ensuring personal data security even if the phone changes hands. For those whose licences are nearing expiry, renewals can now be completed entirely from home. Official costs in Indonesian Rupiah, based on Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020, are as follows: The Korlantas Polri has launched a mobile-accessible digital driver’s licence system, integrated with the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) and online renewal services. The force has published a list of police districts nationwide that will begin issuing and renewing Digital Driver’s Licences (SINAR) from 1 December 2025. This feature is part of the public service digital transformation to simplify accident reporting for citizens and drivers. With the Digital Driver’s Licence, Korlantas Polri aims to improve driver administrative compliance through enhanced accessibility.
