Korlantas integrates ETLE from traffic tickets to fine payments

From enforcement and the legal settlement process to fine payments and record-keeping, everything can be connected within a single system.

he Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is pushing for the strengthening of the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system through the integration of law enforcement processes into a single criminal justice ecosystem.

Brigadier General I Made Agus Prasatya, Director of Law Enforcement at Korlantas Polri, stated in a briefing received in Jakarta on Wednesday that connectivity between agencies is key to building an integrated law enforcement system.

“Starting from enforcement, then the case settlement process, fine payments, up to the recording, everything can be connected in one system,” said Made.

According to him, this integration connects the enforcement process by the police, the settlement of cases in court, and the payment and recording of fines through the prosecutor’s office.

Through this dashboard, every institution can obtain the same information based on integrated data. Monitoring the progress of cases can also be conducted more rapidly without waiting for manual data exchanges.

Further strengthening is being implemented in the electronic fine payment system. Payments are directed through the mechanism of state revenue using official banking systems.

The integration of the criminal justice system also supports changes in administrative processes between agencies. Enforcement data, court decisions, payments, and revenue can be interconnected so that physical reconciliation is no longer necessary.

With an integrated system, the administrative process is expected to be more efficient, and the potential for discrepancies in records between agencies can be minimised.

In addition to technological enhancements, Korlantas is encouraging the improvement of human resource competence through certification for officers involved in the implementation of the electronic law enforcement system.

Korlantas ensures that it will continue to refine this integration as part of the national development of ETLE.
