Korlantas Deploys TAA Tools to Process Accident Scene of Train Crash in Bekasi
The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps is supporting the investigation into the train accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station in West Java. The Traffic Corps is processing the accident scene using Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) technology to reconstruct the incident in detail.
The Head of the Traffic Accident Analysis Section of the Subdirectorate of Traffic Accidents under the Directorate of Law Enforcement at the Traffic Corps, Police Commissioner Sandhi Wiedyanoe, explained that they have two types of TAA tools used to support traffic accident investigations.
“Our TAA tools consist of two types: one static and one portable. The static one records the surrounding environment in 360 degrees, allowing us to view and illustrate it in 3D with 4K quality,” said Police Commissioner Sandhi, as quoted from the Traffic Corps website on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Sandhi stated that the results of the investigation tool recordings will serve as valid electronic evidence used in the subsequent investigation process. According to him, this evidence will also be presented to public prosecutors and judges in the prosecution and trial processes.
“It is electronic evidence that will be used in the further investigation process of traffic accidents. The results will also be presented to prosecutors and judges as a basis for the prosecution process and judicial decisions,” said Sandhi.
“Certainly, from the Traffic Corps, especially the collaboration between the Directorate of Law Enforcement (Ditgakkum) and the Directorate of Security and Safety (Ditkamsel), we will coordinate to evaluate the many incidents involving green taxis. We will conduct an evaluation of that company,” he added.
He hopes that this incident will also serve as a momentum for evaluation for all parties, including railway operators, to strengthen field safety systems and information.
“As a result of this accident, I am confident that PT KAI will be more solid in the context of their information systems,” he added.
As is known, the number of victims from the train accident between the Argo Bromo Anggrek and the Commuter Line KRL at Bekasi Timur Station has increased to 15 people. This number has risen from the previous data of 14 people.
“Yes, 15 deceased,” said the Head of Health Services of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Martinus Ginting, at Bhayangkara Hospital Tk I Pusdokkes Polri (RS Polri), Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/4).
