Korlantas and ASDP Strengthen Strategy for 2026 Nataru and 2027 Lebaran Mudik
The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is strengthening synergy with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry to finalise security strategies for the 2026 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period and the 2027 Ketupat Operation. The collaboration between Korlantas Polri and ASDP is considered key to maintaining the smooth flow of crossings, logistics distribution, and public mobility.
Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General Wibowo stated on Tuesday (28/7/2026) that the visit was a moment to reinforce ties and follow up on established collaboration and coordination. He noted that preparations must begin immediately to ensure optimal public service for the two upcoming national-scale security operations.
Wibowo said the success of managing the homecoming and return flows during the previous Ketupat Operation was inseparable from ASDP’s strategic role as a partner. Besides serving as an inter-island connectivity link, ASDP plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth distribution of logistics and staple goods that support economic stability.
He assessed that the successful management of ports during the last Ketupat Operation was the result of joint synergy among all stakeholders. This included traffic flow arrangements to ports, parking area management, fleet readiness, loading and unloading processes, and the implementation of buffer zone systems and the Tiba Bongkar Berangkat (Arrive, Unload, Depart) pattern, which proved effective in reducing vehicle congestion.
Wibowo expressed hope that these well-functioning security patterns and systems could be maintained and refined for the upcoming Nataru and Ketupat Operations. He also stressed the need to anticipate the challenge of extreme weather, which frequently occurs at the end of the year.
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry President Director Heru Widodo expressed appreciation for the support from Korlantas Polri in maintaining smooth operational services. He acknowledged that ASDP’s service success is the result of joint efforts, particularly the police’s role in managing traffic flow in port areas.
Heru highlighted that congestion on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route now occurs not only during holiday seasons but also on regular days. To address this, ASDP and the government have prepared several measures, including adding more vessels, increasing dock capacity, developing the alternative Tanjung Wangi-Lembar route, and expanding buffer zones as vehicle holding areas.
He expressed hope that coordination between ASDP, Korlantas Polri, ministries, and local governments would continue to be strengthened to ensure safer, smoother, and more comfortable ferry transport services for the public during every national agenda.
