Korem 051 Wijayakarta Establishes Pancasila Village: A Creative Space for the Young Generation
To welcome the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Korem 051 Wijayakarta has transformed a residents’ hangout spot into a creative and productive space. This was done to encourage the young generation to interact, learn, and cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit through the Pancasila Village.
“Located in RW 03, Depok Jaya Urban Village, Pancoran Mas District, Depok City, the Pancasila Village is a tangible space for shaping the character of the community, especially the young generation, so that they grow into resilient individuals with integrity and national insight,” said Korem 051 Wijayakarta personnel and Koramil 01 member, who serves as Babinsa of Depok Jaya Urban Village, Sergeant Awan Juliansyah, on Saturday (15/8/2026).
Through this approach, Korem 051 aims to instil Pancasila values from an early age. At the integrated health post, they will provide education on the values of kindness and togetherness to mothers.
“In the early childhood education environment, Korem 051 Wijayakarta personnel also serve as assistant teachers,” he said.
Through enjoyable methods, children are introduced to Pancasila and national insight. One approach involves stories about the struggles of heroes, combined with drawing activities.
Korem 051 Wijayakarta, together with residents, has also transformed an open space that was previously only a place for hanging out or transit into a productive space for young people.
“In this place, they can interact, learn, and develop entrepreneurial potential. Starting from maggot cultivation, fish farming ponds, to a waste bank. From waste management, maggot cultivation, to fish farming, the young generation is introduced to activities with economic potential,” said Sergeant Awan.
“So that they do not easily fall into brawls, drug abuse, or other negative behaviours,” he added.
The efforts of Korem 051 Wijayakarta have been appreciated by Depok residents. According to Bagus Fajar, the Pancasila Village is an example that character building does not always have to be carried out through formal approaches.
“A creative space that is close to the lives of young people can be a means of instilling national values while building independence and an entrepreneurial spirit. From a small environment, Pancasila values are instilled to prepare a resilient and character-driven young generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” Bagus concluded.
