Korean Center established at UII
YOGYAKARTA: In cooperation with Pai Chai University of South Korea, the Yogyakarta-based Indonesian Islamic University (UII) launched recently the Center for Korean Studies (CKS) at its Demangan Baru campus compound.
The official opening ceremony of the center was marked with the signing of a plaque by UII rector Luthfi Hasan and president of Pai Chai University Soon Hoon Chung.
According to Akhmad Muftizar Zawawi of the university's public relations department, the center will later be developed into a library and an information center for students.
At present the center houses books, magazines, cassettes and videos about Korea and other related subjects. The interior of the center is designed to reflect Korean tastes. --JP
