Korea Travel Mart 2026 Expands Cooperation Between Korean and Indonesian Tourism Industries
The increasing number of Indonesian tourists visiting South Korea is driving stronger cooperation between the tourism industry players of both nations. The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Jakarta brought together 26 Korean tourism industry players with 85 Indonesian travel agents through the Korea Travel Mart 2026.
Held at Raffles Jakarta on Thursday (17/09/2026), the event served as a business forum for tourism industry participants to discuss the development of products and travel packages tailored for Indonesian tourists.
In a business-to-business (B2B) format, meetings were conducted through 1:1 business sessions. Korean industry players offered various products, destinations, and tourism experiences that could be developed into travel packages for the Indonesian market.
The 26 participating Korean tourism industry players represented various sectors, including travel agencies, performance groups, hotels, startups, and regional tourism organisations.
Kim Jisun, Director of the Korea Tourism Organization Jakarta, stated that the meeting provided a space for Korean industry players and Indonesian travel agents to explore direct cooperation.
“Korea Travel Mart 2026 serves as an opportunity for the Korean tourism industry and Indonesian travel agencies to meet directly. We hope this meeting can open new cooperation opportunities while providing more travel product options for Indonesian tourists,” said Kim.
According to KTO data, visits by Indonesian tourists to Korea reached 365,596 in 2025. This figure positioned Indonesia as the fourth largest tourist market from the ASEAN region.
This trend continued into 2026. From January to July 2026, there were 259,491 recorded visits by Indonesian tourists to Korea. With this achievement, Indonesia became the third largest tourist market from ASEAN during that period.
KTO aims to increase the number of Indonesian tourist visits to Korea to 425,000 in 2026.
In line with this growth, KTO is expanding access for Indonesian travel agents to Korean tourism products. Direct meetings with industry players are seen as a way to provide information and open opportunities to develop more diverse tourism packages that meet the needs of Indonesian travellers.
In addition to popular destinations, the products introduced throughout 2026 include several themes, such as Hallyu, Muslim-friendly Tourism, Medical & Wellness Tourism, Educational Tourism, and MICE Tourism.
Kim noted that the diversity of these products is expected to encourage travel agents to curate more varied travel options.
“We hope that the increasing variety of introduced products can help travel agents develop more diverse itineraries, not only relying on popular destinations but also cultural experiences, K-content, wellness, education, as well as business and incentive travel,” she added.
The Korea Travel Mart 22026 series concluded with a Gala Night, which served as a networking event for Korean and Indonesian tourism industry players, featuring art and music performances.
Through this forum, KTO Jakarta brought together tourism industry players from both countries to expand business networks and open opportunities for the development of Korean tourism products in the Indonesian market.
