Koran reciters join international contest

BANDUNG, West Java: Four local reciters of the Koran, who won the national competition in July, will soon take part in international Koran-reading contests in several countries.

Antara reported yesterday that Asep Saefullah will participate in a contest in Iran, while Saadilah will compete in Thailand. Both events will take place next month.

H. Fauzi, who was one of the winners of the July national Koran-interpreting contest, will take part in a similar competition in Egypt in February, while H. Cecep Ubaidillah will compete in Saudi Arabia in March. (swe)
