Kopi Kenangan Posts US$18 Million Profit, Strengthens ESG Commitments
Sustainability is increasingly viewed not as a burden, but as part of a long-term business growth strategy. This approach is reflected in Kopi Kenangan, which posted an EBITDA of US$37 million and a net profit of US$18 million throughout 2025, while strengthening various environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
Through the launch of its 2025 ESG Report, the company summarised various sustainability achievements carried out over the past year. At the same time, Kopi Kenangan also introduced the ‘Barista Hebat’ programme as an effort to expand job opportunities for deaf individuals in the food and beverage industry.
For the company, business growth and sustainability are not two separate agendas. Positive financial performance must be accompanied by creating an impact on the environment, society, and strengthening corporate governance so the business can grow sustainably.
Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs at Kopi Kenangan, Inneke Lestari, stated that the company continuously strives to ensure that business growth provides added value for all stakeholders, from customers and employees to business partners and the wider community.
“We believe that sustainable growth is not just about expanding the business, but also about creating value for all stakeholders. Through various initiatives we have implemented throughout 2025, we continue to ensure that Kopi Kenangan’s business growth goes hand in hand with positive contributions to the environment, community empowerment, and the implementation of good corporate governance,” Inneke said during the launch of the Kopi Kenangan 2025 ESG Report on Tuesday (30/6).
One of the achievements highlighted in the report is the strengthening of the domestic supply chain. Throughout 2025, all primary raw materials used by Kopi Kenangan were supplied by local suppliers as a form of support for Indonesia’s industrial and economic growth.
In the environmental field, the company diverted more than 50 tonnes of operational waste from landfills through various circular economy programmes. At the same time, Kopi Kenangan began the initial phase of operational decarbonisation by mapping its carbon footprint for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, totalling 38.8 million kilograms of CO2 equivalent. Various initiatives implemented successfully reduced emissions by 81,672 kilograms of CO2e.
The sustainability commitment was also realised through strengthening the upstream coffee farming ecosystem. Kopi Kenangan collaborated with Udayana University and the Kintamani Bali Coffee Geographical Indication Protection Society (MPIG) through a sustainable agriculture education programme for 50 farmers, business incubation for 14 farmers’ children, and infrastructure grants.
On the social aspect, the company recorded the creation of 7,521 jobs throughout 2025, with total wages paid to employees reaching Rp467 billion. Kopi Kenangan also stated that it maintains gender equality and pay equity across all levels of the organisation as part of its commitment to building an inclusive work environment.
This commitment continues into 2026 through the launch of the ‘Barista Hebat’ programme. In collaboration with Parakerja, this programme opens job opportunities for deaf individuals through barista training, work skill development, and mentoring to ensure participants are ready to work professionally in the food and beverage industry. Through this initiative, the company hopes more people with disabilities will gain equal access to the workforce while encouraging a more inclusive employment ecosystem.
Group Chief People & Culture of Kopi Kenangan, Gemini Aryanto, said the programme is part of the company’s efforts to build a work environment that values diverse talents and provides space for every individual to grow.
“The Barista Hebat programme is part of Kopi Kenangan’s efforts to build a work environment that values diverse talents and provides space for every individual to contribute optimally. Through this programme, we hope to encourage a more inclusive employment ecosystem while demonstrating that limitations do not prevent someone from growing and working professionally,” said Gemini.
In addition to various environmental and social initiatives, the 2025 ESG Report also contains the company’s efforts to strengthen governance as a foundation for long-term growth. For Kopi Kenangan, sustainability is measured not only by business achievements but also by the company’s ability to create value for society, strengthen the supply chain, protect the environment, and build responsible business practices.
Going forward, the company stated it will continue to expand collaboration with various stakeholders to encourage more inclusive and sustainable economic opportunities, so that business growth can proceed in tandem with positive contributions to society and the environment.
