JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Job openings for managers and administrators at the Merah Putih Village and Sub-district Cooperatives (Kopdes) and Merah Putih Fishermen’s Villages (KNMP) have been inundated with hundreds of thousands of applicants.

The number of registrants reached 383,830 people as of Monday (20/4/2026) at 10.30 WIB. This figure was reported by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan.

The surge in applicants caused the registration website to experience disruptions at times.

“This is because many are registering, so sometimes the website hangs. So the total who have registered is 383,830,” said Zulhas at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office in Jakarta on Monday.

In detail, 220,364 people applied to Kopdes Merah Putih. Meanwhile, 64,029 people registered for KNMP.

Zulhas stressed that the recruitment process is conducted openly. There are no guarantees of acceptance for applicants.

“There is no guarantee that anyone will be accepted; it’s all open and straightforward,” he stated.

The Kopdes Merah Putih programme continues to be developed. To date, 5,714 outlets and warehouses have been completed.

Construction is still ongoing at 25,625 other locations. The government is also continuing to survey additional sites.

Preliminary data records 35,408 Kopdes sites that already have land of 1,000 square metres.

“The other lands are still being surveyed. They will be adjusted in the next period, because in cities the land is expensive,” said Zulhas.

These positions are state-owned enterprise (BUMN) employees with fixed-term employment contracts (PKWT). The managers will work under PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara.

In addition, there are 5,476 vacancies for KNMP. The formations include operational managers, quality assurors, and production heads.

Each formation provides 1,369 positions.
