The Indonesian Military’s Operational Command (Koops) in Papua held free medical treatment services and distributed basic food supply packages to residents of Mimika Regency, Central Papua. This humanitarian operation in the remote inland area reflects the military’s commitment to assisting the community.

Pangkoops TNI Papua Brigjen TNI Ahmad Fikri Musmar, represented by Deputy Commander of the Territorial Task Force Brigjen TNI Stefie Jantje Nuhujanan, stated that the activity constituted a form of social service from the military to help improve health and welfare of communities in the Papua region, whilst also strengthening the relationship between the military and the public.

“We give thanks to Almighty God for His grace and protection, enabling us to gather here. The presence of Koops TNI Papua here is part of social welfare activities through free medical treatment services for the community. We hope this activity proceeds smoothly and provides benefits to the people,” said Stefie on Monday (9 March 2026).

The social activity was held in Iwaka Village, Iwaka District, Mimika Regency on Thursday (5 March). The community responded with enthusiasm to the initiative.

In his remarks, Iwaka Village Chief Elisius Awiyuta expressed appreciation and gratitude to Koops TNI for their concern towards the community through free medical treatment and food aid programmes.

In addition to free health services, the Koops TNI Papua Task Force also distributed basic food supply packages containing essential household items. This measure was seen as significantly helpful to residents in meeting their daily needs.
