KontraS Urges Police at Andrie Yunus Case Meeting: Do Not Fear the TNI
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Chair of the KontraS Executive Board, Indria Fernida, urged the police not to fear the TNI. Indria also offered encouragement to the police force. This statement was made during a meeting with the Propam Division of National Police Headquarters, Polda Metro Jaya, and several activist organisations regarding the acid splashing case against Andrie Yunus, at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). “To the police, of course we are still communicating continuously and hopefully providing encouragement and strength to the police. Because the police are actually the frontline for this, so do not fear the TNI,” said Indria. Consequently, the police handed over the Andrie Yunus case to the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom), given that the involved perpetrators are soldiers from the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS). “Earlier, we have conveyed the handover process to Puspom, which we have carried out. And up to the handover process, we have not found any involvement from civilians up to the handover,” said Iman. Iman then invited all parties to pray for Andrie Yunus’s recovery. “We express our thanks for all the input and corrections that will serve as a guide and remedy for us, to do better in serving the people, nation, and state,” he said. Meanwhile, Iman assured that the police will continue to enforce the law.
