KontraS Reveals Latest Update on Andrie Yunus, Still Critical in HCU

KontraS attended a meeting with Polda Metro Jaya and Commission III of the DPR RI on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. During the occasion, KontraS Managing Board Chair Indria Fernida revealed the latest condition of Andrie Yunus, who has been undergoing intensive treatment in the High Care Unit (HCU) for more than two weeks. Andrie is reported to require close medical attention, particularly for his eyes and the burns he suffered. “Andrie’s condition has been in the high care unit for more than two weeks, with attached and intensive care for his eyes and burns. He cannot be visited by anyone except family, due to concerns over infection and other matters,” Indria stated. Indria emphasised that Andrie’s health situation is currently very concerning, although public information remains limited. KontraS assesses that this condition should receive serious attention from the state to ensure justice for the victim. “But this also shows that his condition is very far from fine, even though from the outside there is no clearer information. And we still see that this situation is a concern for the state,” Indria asserted firmly. It is known that four TNI soldiers were involved in the acid attack on the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus. This was revealed by TNI Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Police Major General Yusri Nuryanto. Yusri said he only received information regarding the alleged involvement of the four TNI soldiers on Wednesday morning, 18 March 2026. “So this morning, I have received, received from the TNI Denma Bais, four people suspected of carrying out the assault against brother Andrie Yunus,” Yusri said during a press conference on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Yusri explained that the four TNI soldiers have been secured. His side is currently delving into the motive behind the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. “So we are also still investigating what the motive is from those four alleged perpetrators,” he stated.
