KontraS Reveals Descriptions of Acid Attack Suspects Against Andrie Yunus
Jakarta — The Coordinator of the Working Body of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Dimas Bagus Arya, has disclosed the characteristics of two suspected perpetrators of an acid attack against KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus on Thursday, 13 March 2026, in the evening.
“The perpetrators were two men who carried out the operation using a single motorcycle, each playing the role of driver and passenger,” stated Dimas in a written statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Dimas elaborated that the first perpetrator, who acted as the driver, wore a white-blue combination t-shirt, dark trousers believed to be denim material, and a black helmet.
“One of the perpetrators then sprayed acid towards the victim, striking parts of the victim’s body,” said Dimas.
As a result of the attack, Andrie immediately screamed in pain and dropped his motorcycle. He was then rushed to the nearest hospital from the location of the incident and received emergency medical treatment as he suffered burns on his right and left hands, face, and chest.
“Particularly in the eye area that was struck by the liquid,” revealed Dimas.
Police confirmed the acid attack incident that befell Andrie. However, the victim has not yet filed a report regarding the incident.
“We are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the perpetrators through scientific investigation,” he continued.
Police have already conducted an examination of the crime scene of the acid attack. Previously, it was reported that KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus was attacked with acid by an unknown person, resulting in serious injuries across his body, particularly on both hands, face, chest, and eye areas.
