KontraS at DPR Says Andrie Yunus's Condition Is Not Well

KontraS Chairman Indria Fernida revealed that Andrie Yunus, who was doused with caustic liquid, is still in the high care unit (HCU) receiving intensive treatment. He remains under intensive care because his condition is not well. Indria conveyed this during a meeting at the DPR RI’s Commission III on Tuesday (31/3/2026). According to her, Andrie has been in the HCU for two weeks for eye and burn treatment. Andrie, she said, cannot be visited by anyone except his family and one KontraS official, to prevent infection or other disturbances. “His condition is very not well, although from the outside it doesn’t look like there’s clearer information,” said Indria. So far, she stated that the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is also continuously accompanying Andrie specifically, and ensuring treatment costs and family support. Meanwhile, KontraS Working Body Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya requested firmness from the DPR RI’s Commission III to determine the jurisdiction of the case and its resolution. He also asked the DPR RI’s Commission III to deepen police efforts in investigating the case, including the evidence collected. “We still have one imagination or one assumption that the police have the intention to continue this case using the argumentation basis in the Criminal Procedure Code,” said Dimas.
