Jakarta — Plastic surgeon Parintosa Atmodiwirjo said KontraS activist Andrie Yunus has been receiving outpatient treatment since 16 April 2026, after previously receiving intensive treatment at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). Yunus was injured in an acid attack on 13 March 2026. The remarks were made as Parintosa testified as an expert in a hearing at Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In the case, four BAIS TNI personnel are alleged to be involved: Sergeant Edi Sudarko, Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and Lieutenant Sami Lakka.

“One question I have for the two experts. From the date of the incident on 13 March to now, is the victim still hospitalised at RSCM or outpatient?” the defence counsel asked in the courtroom.

“Mr AY has already outpatient care, so he is outpatient. I forgot to reopen my notes. But the person, when there is a long phase of treatment because the wounds were still wide, then when the wounds are not so wide, that can become outpatient,” Parintosa replied.

The defence counsel then asked when the outpatient treatment began or ended. Parintosa then consulted his records and replied, “If I may, around 16 April 2026.”

The counsel asked whether his skin graft and corneal issues were considered, given the graft risk of infection and possible graft failure. Parintosa noted that the patient underwent a skin graft, with risks of infection and graft failure. “We advised that the patient should remain in conditions similar to inpatient care. So if at home, activities should mimic those during inpatient care,” he said.

Parintosa explained that Andrie Yunus was also instructed to restrict activities and movements during the recovery period to optimise healing. “If that is violated, there is a risk of graft failure and other complications,” he added. “As medical staff, our role is to offer such guidance.”
