KONI Central: Focus on PON 2028 Enters Final Stage

The Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Central, Retired Army Lieutenant General Marciano Norman, said that preparations for the Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) NTT-NTB 2028 have entered the final stage. In the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) and Extraordinary National Sports Conference (Musornaslub) KONI 2026, all provincial KONI members have approved the final draft for PON 2028. “Our focus on PON 2028 in NTT-NTB has been finalised and is entering a stage that has the approval of all members,” Marciano Norman said at a press conference on Thursday. In addition, in Rakernas and Musornaslub KONI 2026, KONI Central set amended Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART). Then KONI Central also designated the provinces of Banten and Lampung as hosts of PON 2032. “Thank you and the highest appreciation to KONI Banten and KONI Lampung who have undergone a long process and obtained the approval of all KONI Central members to become hosts of PON 2032,” Marciano added. PON NTT-NTB will also include the white-water rafting discipline. The decision was also set in the Rakernas and Musronaslub KONI 2026 agenda. This designation also serves as a momentum for the development of national white-water rafting as a sport of achievement. During this occasion, Marciano Norman also stated that PON is a strategic program as the implementation of the Asta Cita program of President Prabowo Subianto.
