KONE Promotes Sustainable Buildings with Green Label Platinum
Sustainability is becoming an essential component of urban development in Indonesia. KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, is strengthening this commitment through the attainment of the Green Label Platinum Certification in Indonesia, the highest rating awarded by the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI). This recognition underscores the increasing importance of smart people flow solutions in supporting more sustainable urban construction.
The Platinum-level certification is awarded to products that meet higher standards in circular economy practices, including the use of recycled materials and responsible product management at the end of their life cycle.
For KONE, this certification is not only a corporate milestone but also reflects a broader shift within Indonesia’s building environment. An increasing number of developers, building owners, and investors are seeking technologies capable of reducing energy consumption, minimising environmental impact, and supporting long-term sustainability goals throughout a building’s life cycle.
Responding to this achievement, the Interim Managing Director of KONE Indonesia, Adiq Akhmadi, stated that rapid urbanisation in Indonesia presents an opportunity to reshape how future cities are designed and constructed.

He noted that KONE is the first and only elevator and escalator company in Indonesia to successfully achieve this certification.
