Kompolnas Praises Hoegeng Awards 2026: Highly Inspiring

The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) has expressed its appreciation for the organisation of the Hoegeng Awards 2026, assessing the event as highly inspiring. The peak event for the Hoegeng Awards 2026 was held at The Tribrata in South Jakarta on Friday evening (31/7/2026). Kompolnas Daily Chairman Arief Wicaksono, who attended the event, said the Hoegeng Awards provide inspiration for all Polri personnel. “So, personally and institutionally, Kompolnas gives high appreciation because the event initiated by the Hoegeng Awards, initiated by detikcom, is very inspiring for Polri members to be more active in their performance,” Arief said. Arief stated that the award categories in the Hoegeng Awards cover various crucial aspects of police service. He noted that the recipients of the Hoegeng Awards are figures who are often not in the spotlight, but whose dedication is felt by the community. “Because they assess police with integrity, police with innovation, including those protecting women and children, disabled groups, and the dedicated, and lastly, those serving in remote areas. Because so far, these figures may rarely be reached by the Polri leadership itself, perhaps due to their busy schedules,” he said. Arief said the assessment by the Hoegeng Awards Expert Council was also transparent and objective. He supported the desire of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to create young ‘Hoegengs’ within the Polri institution. “With the National Police Chief’s desire in his speech, where he also hopes to forge and shape the next Hoegengs, that is good. There is a good intention if that is the aspiration to create the next Hoegengs. I saw his words that way,” he said. The Hoegeng Awards is a collaborative programme between detikcom and Polri to give awards to exemplary police officers. There are five award categories in the Hoegeng Awards 2026: Dedicated Police, Innovative Police, Integrity Police, Protector of Women and Children Police, and Border and Remote Area Police. The Hoegeng Awards 2026 process began with the collection of names of exemplary police officers proposed by the public starting 27 January 2026. Around nine thousand names of exemplary police officers were submitted by the public until the proposal process closed on 2 April 2026. From these numerous proposals, the Hoegeng Awards 2026 committee team conducted verification and initial selection. The names that passed the committee’s verification and selection were then submitted to the Hoegeng Awards 2026 Expert Council. The Expert Council held several meetings to select the nominees in each category. A public test was also conducted from 7 May to 22 May 2026. During this stage, detikcom gathered input from the public regarding the candidates. The Hoegeng Awards 2026 has been completed. After going through public proposals and a rigorous selection process, five exemplary police officers were finally chosen as recipients of the Hoegeng Awards 2026. The recipients are: Dedicated Police: Kombes Eko Budhi Purwono (Director of Community Development, Riau Regional Police); Innovative Police: Brigadier Renita Rismayanti (Member of the International Relations Division, Polri); Integrity Police: Kombes Norul Hidayat (Head of the State Police School, Bangka Belitung Regional Police); Protector of Women, Children and Vulnerable Groups Police: AKP Siti Elminawati (Unit Head 1, Sub-directorate 4, Directorate of General Criminal Investigation, Central Sulawesi Regional Police); Border and Remote Area Police: First Inspector Motalip Litiloly (Head of Samapta Unit, Nduga Resort Police, Papua Regional Police).
