Kompolnas: Dismissal of four personnel linked to Bripda NS case demonstrates firm action
The relationship between seniors and juniors is essentially a cultural one, based on mutual respect, not on acting arbitrarily.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) assesses that the dishonourable dismissal (PTDH) sanction imposed by the Riau Islands Provincial Police (Polda Kepri) on four personnel involved in the assault case that resulted in the death of Bripda NS demonstrates the police’s firm action in handling internal violations.
“The PTDH decision is a good and positive step to show that any violations occurring within the police force are met with firm action,” said Kompolnas member Choirul Anam to ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.
According to him, such firm sanctions are expected to serve as a lesson for all parties that the relationship between seniors and juniors should be one of mutual respect.
In addition, he also encouraged that the criminal investigation into this assault case be pursued to the fullest extent possible.
“We also remind that, in addition to firm sanctions, preventive mechanisms must be built to ensure it does not happen again,” he added.
Previously, Polda Kepri imposed PTDH sanctions on four of its personnel with initials AS, AP, GSP, and MA related to the alleged assault by seniors that caused the death of Bripda NS.
“The violators have been sanctioned in accordance with applicable provisions, in the form of ethical sanctions for behavioural violations as well as administrative sanctions in the form of dishonourable dismissal from Polri service,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Kepri, Commissioner Pol. Nona Pricillia Ohei.
The assault incident occurred on Monday (13/4) around 23:50 WIB in room 303 of the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Barracks Housing at Polda Kepri.
Nona explained that the sanction refers to Article 13 paragraph (1) of Government Regulation Number 1 of 2003 on the Dismissal of Polri Members in conjunction with the provisions in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022 on the Professional Code of Ethics and the Polri Ethics Commission.
In the ethics hearing held on Friday (17/4), one violator with initials AS stated acceptance of the decision, while the other three, namely AP, GSP, and MA, filed objections.
In addition to the ethical process, Polda Kepri is also continuing the criminal process in the case. The case has been elevated from the investigation stage to the inquiry stage since 15 April 2026.
“Based on the results of the inquiry and evidence, AS has been designated as a suspect, followed by developments that uncovered the involvement of other parties,” she said.
The other three personnel, who were previously witnesses—namely AP, GSP, and MA—have now also been designated as suspects.
