Kompolnas Comments on Bali Brimob Officer's One-Year Sentence for Selling Stolen Car Worth Rp102 Million

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — National Police Commission (Kompolnas) member Choirul Anam has urged police to monitor the one-year prison sentence handed to Bali Regional Police Brimob member I Kadek Aditya Pradnyana Putra. Kadek was sentenced to one year in prison by Gianyar District Court on Monday, 25 May 2026. ‘We urge the police to monitor specifically the Professional and Security Affairs (Propam) and immediately take steps to enforce the code of ethics,’ Anam said in a voice message to Kompas.com on Thursday, 28 May 2026. Anam explained that court rulings must be respected and implemented. ‘If there are still appeals from the individual, it means the process is ongoing and not yet final. If it is final, then the police must follow up,’ he added. He also noted that aside from the prison sentence, there is a two-year revocation of police officer rights. According to Anam, if the ruling is final, Propam can enforce the revocation and include it in police ethics violation hearings. As previously reported, defendant I Kadek Pradnyana Putra was sentenced to one year in prison by Gianyar District Court judges. The defendant was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of a series of theft offences in Gianyar Regency, Bali.
