Kompol Yogi Faces 14-Year Prison Sentence in the Death of Brigadier Nurhadi
The public prosecutor demanded a 14-year prison sentence for Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama in the case of the death of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi. This sentence is heavier than that of another defendant, Ipda I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto, who was previously sentenced to eight years in prison.
“Therefore, we request that the defendant be sentenced to 14 years in prison, minus the time he has already spent in detention,” stated prosecutor Ahmad Budi Muklish in the courtroom of the Mataram District Court (PN), Thursday (February 26, 2026).
In the indictment, the prosecutor requested that the panel of judges at the Mataram PN declare I Made Yogi Purusa Utama guilty of violating Article 458 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP) and Article 221 Paragraph (1) of the KUHP in conjunction with Article 20 letters a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP.
“The defendant, I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, has been proven guilty of committing the crime of murder and obstructing the investigation of a crime or concealing evidence,” he said.
In addition to the main sentence, the prosecutor also demanded that Yogi pay restitution to Elma Agustina, the wife and heir of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi, in the amount of IDR 385,773,589.
This restitution is based on the assessment of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Number: R.6128/5.2.HSKR/LPSK/10/2025 dated October 16, 2025.
“If the defendant does not pay within 30 days, the prosecutor may seize and auction off the defendant’s assets or income to pay the restitution,” he said.
“If this is not sufficient or not possible, the defendant will be subject to a substitute prison sentence of two years,” Muklish added.
Previously, the prosecutor also demanded an eight-year prison sentence for Ipda I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto. Aris was also ordered to pay restitution of IDR 385,773,589, with a subsidiary sentence of two years in prison.
The prosecutor asked the judge to declare Aris guilty of committing the crime of aggravated assault and obstructing the investigation of a crime or concealing evidence, based on Article 468 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP and Article 221 Paragraph (1) of the KUHP in conjunction with Article 20 letters a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP.
Brigadier Nurhadi died at Villa Tekek The Beach House Resort, Gili Trawangan, on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) night. He was reportedly drinking alcohol and using narcotics with Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris, as well as two women, Misri Puspita Sari and Meylani Putri.
The two women were allegedly hired by Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris. In this case, Misri Puspita Sari has also been named a suspect. However, the trial has not yet begun, and the case file has only recently been declared complete.
