Kompas Survey: 80% of Public Satisfied with Police Station Facilities
Public assessment of police service facilities has improved. According to a Litbang Kompas survey, 80% of the public now consider police station facilities to be comfortable. The assessment of the Indonesian National Police’s professionalism in serving the public has increased significantly, based on the latest Litbang Kompas survey. In October 2025, the police professionalism score for public services was 7.76%, and it has now risen to 8.37%. The Litbang Kompas survey was conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026, using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents. Sampling was carried out randomly using a multistage systematic sampling method across 38 provinces, with a margin of error of 2.83% and a 95% confidence level. The professionalism assessment results were derived from the average index of 20 aspects from respondents who had interacted with the police, such as document processing. The best aspect of police service was in document processing, where the police were assessed as not discriminating based on religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Furthermore, respondents also assessed that police services have improved in case resolution, honesty, comfort in dealing with the police, and easy access to legal processes. Respondents also noted that the presence of brokers in dealings with the police and officers using their positions for personal gain have decreased. The institutional image of the police also rose significantly to 71.5% from the previous year’s 64.4%. Based on the Litbang Kompas survey, this increase in the positive image of the police is linked to the extensive involvement of police personnel as the frontline of the state’s Bhayangkara apparatus in the field.
