A survey by Kompas Research and Development shows that the positive image of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has reached 71.5%. The survey results indicate a significant increase in public trust in the Polri institution compared to the previous year. The Kompas R&D survey was conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026, using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents. Sampling was carried out randomly using a multistage systematic sampling method across 38 provinces, with a margin of error of 2.83% and a confidence level of 95%. According to the survey, public satisfaction with Polri services has risen. The previous year’s trust level was 65%, which has now increased to 67.6%. The institutional image of Polri also rose significantly to 71.5% from the previous year’s percentage of 64.4%. Based on the Kompas R&D survey, this increase in Polri’s positive image is linked to the extensive involvement of police personnel as the frontline apparatus of the state’s Bhayangkara force in the field. Furthermore, Kompas R&D also asked for assessments from respondents who had previously interacted with Polri. The results showed that the performance score for Polri’s professionalism rose from 7.76% to 8.37%. This assessment of Polri’s service professionalism was derived from the average index of 20 aspects from respondents who had interacted with the police, such as document processing. Additionally, 80% of respondents stated that service facilities at police stations are now comfortable. This significant increase in trust places Polri on the list of the five state institutions trusted by the public. In fact, according to the Kompas R&D survey, the level of trust in Polri is acknowledged by the public to be relatively higher than that of other law enforcement agencies such as the Attorney General’s Office, the Supreme Court, and the KPK.
