The most common form of violence against women in 2025 is sexual violence, with 22,848 cases, followed by psychological violence with 15,727 cases, physical violence with 14,126 cases, and economic violence with 5,942 cases, according to Ratna Batara Munti, Deputy Chair of Komnas Perempuan, at the launch of the 2025 Annual Report in Jakarta on Friday.

If examined by realm, psychological violence in the personal realm was recorded at 2,315 cases.

Overall, the highest number of cases by form of violence lies in the personal realm, with a total of 6,204 cases, followed by the public realm with 3,026 cases, and the state realm with 353 cases.

Regionally, the highest violence against women was recorded in West Java with 63,001 cases, followed by East Java with 46,179 cases, and Central Java with 44,790 cases.

The data in the Komnas Perempuan Annual Report compiles violence cases handled by various service agencies for women victims of violence, both those managed by the government and those established by civil society.
