Komnas HAM to Summon TNI Commander Regarding Acid Attack Case on KontraS Activist

Komnas HAM will summon TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto to clarify the involvement of four soldiers from Denma BAIS TNI in the acid attack case on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The summoning will take place after Eid.

“Komnas HAM will soon summon the TNI Commander to request an explanation regarding the involvement of its members in the Andrie Yunus case as perpetrators,” said Komnas HAM Chair Anis Hidayah to reporters on Thursday (19/3/2026).

Anis assessed that the explanation from the Commander is very important to ensure public information openness. Considering that Komnas HAM is also conducting an investigation into the acid attack case.

“So this is very important for information, because Komnas HAM is also investigating this case,” she stated.

Previously, Puspom TNI revealed that there are four BAIS TNI soldiers who are suspected perpetrators of the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The four perpetrators are initialled Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, Sergeant ES.

TNI Danpuspom Major General Yusri Nuryanto stated that the four suspected perpetrators are members of Denma BAIS TNI from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches.

“We state that all four suspected perpetrators are members of Denma BAIS TNI, not from any unit but from Denma BAIS TNI,” said Maj Gen Yusri during a press conference at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3).

Further questioned, Yusri stated that the four perpetrators are from AL and AU. “From AL and AU,” he added in response to the question.

Furthermore, Yusri also conveyed that three out of four suspects hold officer ranks. The highest, he continued, is captain rank.

“So Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, Sergeant ES. During the investigation, we will work as maximally as possible with the hope that we can carry it out as quickly as possible in a professional manner,” he said.
