Komnas HAM Supports Police Investigation into Sutrimo's Death

The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has responded to the mysterious death of a man named Sutrimo in front of a beauty clinic in South Jakarta. Komnas HAM supports the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) in conducting a thorough investigation into the case.

“We encourage and support the police in carrying out the investigation,” said Komnas HAM Chairperson Anis Hidayah to reporters on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

Komnas HAM Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation, Saurlin P. Siagian, echoed this sentiment. He urged the police to promptly and openly explain the cause of Sutrimo’s death to the public.

“We support law enforcement, in this case the police, to investigate this case thoroughly so that the cause of death becomes clear,” Saurlin explained. “For now, we will monitor the police’s handling of the case,” he added.

Law enforcement officials are still investigating the cause of Sutrimo’s death in front of the beauty clinic. The exact cause of death has not yet been officially determined.

Police have also conducted a follow-up crime scene investigation at the clinic located on Jalan Kramat Pela, RT 11/RW 11, Pulo Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta. The General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, together with the South Jakarta Metro Resort Police, has deployed a special team to investigate the case, map out the sequence of events, and uncover the cause of death.

According to circulating information, the victim was first discovered with foam coming from his mouth. The victim was reportedly the Head of Household Affairs for Febrie Adriansyah, a former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office. However, the police are still verifying the victim’s identity and background.

“It is still being investigated,” said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Sunday (26/7).
