JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has sought statements from several high-ranking officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) regarding the acid splashing incident against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

The agenda took place at the Komnas HAM office in Manteng, Central Jakarta, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM WIB.

One of the senior officials questioned was the Commander of the TNI Military Police Centre (Danpuspom), Major General Yusri Nuryanto.

“It consists of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, the Danpuspom, and the Deputy Head of Public Relations, along with several mid-level officers,” he continued.

There are seven TNI officers from whom Komnas HAM sought statements.

They comprise three senior officers and four mid-level officers.

They were questioned in a closed session for two hours, answering around 10 questions related to the acid splashing case against Andrie Yunus.

Pramono stated that the questions from Komnas HAM focused on delving into several matters.

“First, we want to request information on approximately what actions were taken by the TNI side before 18 March,” said Pramono.

Komnas HAM is probing what actions TNI had already taken that enabled the identification of four suspects involved in the acid splashing.

Second, Komnas HAM is examining several aspects related to the investigative steps already conducted by Puspom after 19 March 2026.

This includes after they received the transfer of case files and evidence from Metro Jaya Police and then proceeded with the investigation.

“That’s what we’re probing from Puspom up to their naming of the four suspects yesterday,” added Pramono.
