Komnas HAM Receives Complaints from 12 People Threatened in Connection with Andrie Yunus Case
Komnas HAM Commissioner Saurlin P Siagian stated that the commission has received complaints from 12 people who claim to have received threats following the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. He did not elaborate on the nature of the threats received by these individuals. “So far, 12 people. Plus AY makes 13,” Saurlin said on Friday (3/4/2026). Saurlin also did not disclose the identities of the 12 individuals. He said Komnas HAM is currently investigating the alleged threats. “The team is delving into it,” he stated. As is known, Andrie Yunus was the victim of an acid attack on Thursday night (12/3). The TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) subsequently arrested four individuals suspected of carrying out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. All four are known to be members of the TNI’s Denma Bais from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches. “We state that all four suspected perpetrators are members of the TNI’s Denma Bais, not from any specific unit, but from the TNI’s Denma Bais,” said TNI Danpuspom Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference at TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (18/3). The four suspects are initialled NDP, SL, BHW, and ES. Puspom TNI is conducting further investigations. “Now, the four suspected suspects have been secured at Puspom TNI for further investigation to the prosecution level,” said Yusri.
