Komnas HAM Questions Polda Metro Jaya for Three Hours on Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) sought information from Polda Metro Jaya (PMJ) regarding the handling of the acid attack case against KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus on Monday (30/3/2026).

Komnas HAM Monitoring and Investigation Commissioner Saurlin P Siagian stated that the examination was attended by the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombespol Iman Imanuddin, and several of his staff.

The examination lasted for three hours, from approximately 10:00 to 13:00 WIB, at the Komnas HAM office in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

“Today, we received information for about three hours from Polda Metro Jaya regarding what they have done, the investigations already conducted, and the steps they will take going forward,” Saurlin told reporters after questioning Polda Metro Jaya on Monday.

He said that Komnas HAM still requires additional data to complete the monitoring of the case.

“We believe there are sufficient facts that we need, several things have already been conveyed, and we are still requesting a few more items from Polda Metro Jaya to be submitted to us,” he stated.

Saurlin explained that his side also plans to seek information from the TNI in the near future, given that four TNI soldiers are suspected of being involved in the case.

“We will continue to monitor this case and in the near future, we will summon the TNI side,” he clarified.

In addition, Polda Metro Jaya is still investigating the possible involvement of parties outside the TNI.

“Polda Metro Jaya is still delving into the involvement of non-TNI parties. They are still conducting further investigation processes,” Saurlin said.

Meanwhile, Coordinator of the Human Rights Enforcement Sub-Commission, Pramono Ubaid Tanthowi, added that Komnas HAM’s investigation into this case will be completed as soon as possible.

“We are not setting a date (for preparing recommendations), but we promise to handle this case as quickly as possible,” he stated.

Previously, the acid attack incident against Andrie Yunus occurred on Thursday night (12/3/2026). Andrie is suspected of being attacked by two unidentified individuals while on his way home.
