Komnas HAM Identifies 5 Female Students as Victims of Rape by Ponpes Founder in Pati
Regarding the number of victims, for us, even one victim is more than enough; the information we have identified so far is limited to five female students (victims). It could potentially develop further,” said Komnas HAM Chair Anis Hidayah, as reported by detikJateng on Saturday (9/5/2026). Anis stated that her organisation has not yet received data related to information claiming up to 50 female students as victims of alleged sexual violence by AS. According to her, even though the number of victims cannot yet be confirmed, the government must still pay serious attention to the case. “But regarding the 50 victims, we have not obtained information from our monitoring. On the figure of one victim alone being more than enough for this state to provide serious attention, both in terms of law enforcement and post-recovery after the legal process is complete,” she explained. Separately confirmed, Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at Pati Police Resort, AKP Iswantoro, said that during the examination, AS initially denied committing the criminal act of sexual violence. However, AS has now admitted to his actions. He has been designated as a suspect and is being held in the detention room at Pati Police Resort. “After we examined the suspect AS, the latest facts revealed are still similar to the initial examination; only during the witness examination he did not admit, but after we arrested the suspect AS, he admitted all his actions,” Iswantoro explained to reporters at Pati Police Resort earlier today. “So what was done to the victims, the suspect admitted in accordance with the victims’ statements,” he continued.
