The most common cases are land conflicts, both between communities and companies as well as among communities themselves.

Jambi City (ANTARA) - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) discussed 10 cases in Jambi Province, dominated by land conflicts involving communities with companies or horizontal conflicts between residents.

“The most common cases are land conflicts, both between communities and companies as well as among communities themselves,” said Deputy Chair of the Internal Division and Commissioner for Complaints of Komnas HAM, Prabianto Mukti Wibowo, in Jambi on Thursday.

He explained that the team’s visit to Jambi aimed to strengthen coordination regarding the handling of alleged human rights violations.

Prabianto confirmed that the cases had reached a meeting point through a mediation process facilitated by the Local Security and Order Maintenance Agency (Forkopimda) of Sarolangun Regency.

Komnas HAM also appreciated the commitment of the Jambi Provincial Government and related institutions, including the Jambi Police, in responding to public complaints.

He added that out of a total of 51 complaints received by Komnas HAM in the Jambi region from 2025 to early 2026, there were 10 priority cases that were discussed in depth with the local government.

The Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Jambi, Sukiman, added that the meeting was a form of synergy to find the best solutions for every problem in society.

He assessed that the resolution of problems, especially related to land, must follow the existing mechanisms, including through authorised official forums.

“Problems with such a broad scope cannot be resolved independently without coordination. We encourage all parties to contribute according to their respective roles,” said Sukiman.
