Member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Alfiansyah, popularly known as Komeng, cracked jokes while attending the MPR Annual Session.

In the agenda, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to deliver the state address and financial note.

On this matter, Komeng quipped that he had not asked Prabowo for any hopes. He said he only hoped to be number one in the hearts of the public.

“With the president, I didn’t ask for hopes but asked to be number one. I mean, what the people think about,” Komeng said at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, Friday 14 August 2026.

On the other hand, he said the ideals of the nation’s founders must truly be carried out and bring prosperity to the public.

“What our founders aspired to must truly be worthy of bringing prosperity,” he explained.

Deputy Speaker of the MPR Eddy Soeparno said Prabowo would deliver the state address and financial note.

“Today we will listen to the Financial Note which reinforces our commitment to achieving high economic growth,” Eddy said at the DPR Building, Central Jakarta, Friday 14 August 2026.

He hoped that what Prabowo delivered would be a continuation of the economic growth roadmap to be achieved at 8 percent by 2028.

Furthermore, he said former presidents and vice presidents were also in attendance today. Eddy revealed that those confirmed to attend included the 7th President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President Boediono, and the 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

“Including the wives of former presidents and vice presidents such as Mrs Sinta Nuriyah will attend, and Mrs Hamzah Haz will also attend,” Eddy concluded.
