The Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation (Komdigi) states that the socialisation of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2026 on the Protection of Children and Adolescents in the Digital Space (PP Tunas) must be conducted repeatedly and involve multiple parties to be more effective in building awareness among children.

Chair of the Legal and Cooperation Team of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision at Komdigi, Nanci Laura Sitinjak, in Tangerang on Wednesday, said that the Tangerang City Government’s strategy of involving various regional apparatus, from the Communication and Informatics Office, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Office to the Education Office, is deemed appropriate.

“This collaboration strengthens the effectiveness of the socialisation because each regional apparatus has complementary roles in building child protection in the digital space,” said Nanci in her statement.

The government, together with various parties, is intensifying the socialisation of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2026 on the Protection of Children and Adolescents in the Digital Space (PP Tunas).

With continuous understanding instilled, students are expected not to view the rules as limitations, but rather as a form of protection.

“So, not seeing this as a restriction, but understanding that these rules exist because there are reasons for protecting children,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City Secretary Herman Suwarman said that the Tangerang City Government continues to strive to provide socialisation so that the use of digital space is adjusted to the conditions of children, both in terms of age and their social interactions.

“We hope that the community can continue to safeguard and nurture our children so that they engage in digital activities in accordance with the existing age limits,” he added.
