Komdigi Forms Special Team to Investigate Alleged IGRS Leak
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has formed a special team to investigate the verification process of the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS), following allegations of a leak involving unreleased game materials.
“We have already formed a special team to investigate this issue comprehensively,” said Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at Komdigi, when met in the Ganara Art FX Sudirman area, Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026).
Sonny explained that the team would examine various aspects, from the system and processes to governance.
“So that we can obtain findings that are truly objective and comprehensive. During this process, we are also receiving a lot of input,” he said.
He mentioned that the process would proceed in stages, involving several teams.
“There are three teams working, both internal and external. So, we cannot yet provide a timeline. However, we will update the results regularly,” he stated.
Komdigi is also collaborating with the Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) in this investigation process, as well as game associations and the public.
He added that the investigation results will serve as the basis for system improvements, including recommendations and future implementation strategies.
Amid the investigation process, Komdigi has temporarily halted IGRS verifications.
This step was taken following allegations of leaked gameplay footage from several major unreleased games, including the highly anticipated title, 007: First Light.
Sonny added that the investigation results will form the basis for system improvements, including recommendations and future implementation strategies.
Regarding the delay in the rating system, Komdigi is still awaiting the investigation results.
However, he emphasised that there is no blocking of services in this case.
“Nothing is being blocked. The blocking mechanism is different. This is what we need to emphasise,” he said.
