Komdigi Bakti Chief Executive Fadhilah Mathar Resigns
Fadhilah Mathar has announced that she is no longer chief executive of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). The news was shared directly in a post on Bakti’s Instagram account, @bakti.komdigi.
She began her farewell message with the words, “It is time for a new generation”. Mathar said she had ceased to lead Bakti on Wednesday (28 October 2026), ending her ten years of service at the agency.
“Today, 28 October 2026, coinciding with Youth Pledge Day, is the first time in 10 years of service that I have not gone to the BLU Bakti Komdigi office. I am stepping down to make way for a better generation,” Mathar said, as quoted on Thursday (29 October 2026).
She also addressed Bakti employees, whom she called “Jong Bakti”. She urged them to keep working to provide connectivity and digital access to people across the country, including in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) regions.
She encouraged employees to remain physically strong so they could support people’s hopes and help provide them with a different way of life.
Mathar also described the state budget (APBN) as a store of people’s prayers and aspirations, and urged staff to manage it with integrity and transparency. She also called on the relevant authorities to safeguard and support Bakti.
“When you are tired, step aside for a while. Look at the smiles of people when an internet connection brings knowledge and the benefits of the wider world to schools, community health centres, village offices, places of worship, posts and homes, often located in the mountains, valleys, forests or on the most remote shores of the archipelago,” she said.
Mathar said she was proud to have led Bakti and would miss the team’s energy and solidarity.
“To Komdigi and all Bakti partners — ministries and agencies, local governments, public-private partnership entities, mobile operators, telecommunications service providers, educational and community empowerment institutions, disability groups, civil society organisations, communities, consultants, experts, the media and everyone else — I apologise and offer my deepest thanks for helping the government provide services, boost productivity and strengthen the digital ecosystem in priority areas,” she said.
Mathar had served as Bakti’s chief executive for the past three years. She was appointed on 14 August 2023, having previously been the agency’s Director of Resources and Administration.
