Komdigi Appoints New Officials to Strengthen Digital Services with Tangible Impact
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) has sworn in a number of new High Leadership Officials (Pimpinan Tinggi Pratama) as part of organisational strengthening to accelerate digital transformation and improve digital-based public services that deliver real impact for society.
Through filling these strategic posts, Kemkomdigi aims to strengthen government services so they become more accessible, more transparent and deliver tangible benefits to those receiving them.
“The newly appointed officials carry a great responsibility to ensure that services at Komdigi keep improving. The measure is not merely that programmes run, but how the public experiences easier services, faster processes and more tangible benefits,” said the ministry’s Secretary-General, Ismail, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
All sectors under Kemkomdigi’s remit — telecommunications, broadcasting, postal services and the digital ecosystem — require responsive governance, according to Ismail, so that every service process can run effectively.
Therefore, the new leaders taking office are expected to use technology as a solution for public services in order to realise digital transformation.
“We want the public and businesses to gain certainty. They must know how far their application has progressed, what the obstacles are, and how they will be resolved. Technology must help deliver fast and transparent services,” he said.
Rather than simply following trends, Ismail assessed that the use of AI in public services can speed up work processes and improve service accuracy.
“We are not building AI merely to follow a trend. We must ensure this technology delivers real benefits, whether for public services, industry or the wider community,” said Ismail.
Indonesia must be capable of becoming a country that uses technology to solve various challenges, not merely a user of technology.
“Our role is to be an orchestrator that unites all stakeholders. Through collaboration, Indonesia can build a strong digital ecosystem that adds value for society,” he said.
Ismail expressed hope that the newly appointed officials can bring innovation and fresh breakthroughs so that the Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs becomes increasingly responsive to the public’s needs.
“This post is a trust to deliver the best possible service. We want every Komdigi policy and programme to deliver benefits genuinely felt by the public,” Ismail concluded.
