Komcad Civil Servants to Be Equipped with Weapons Knowledge, Including Shooting Training
The Head of the National Reserve Agency (Kabacadnas) of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Gabriel Lema, stated that civil servants (ASN) participating in the Komcad programme will receive training on basic operational knowledge of weapons and shooting. He explained that the education curriculum for ASN in the programme is already regulated in relation to military aspects. “So the curriculum is already set with a military nuance, it’s knowledge-based. Limited knowledge, and the same for weapons, because they will also carry out limited shooting exercises. Of course, weapons knowledge is the same,” said Gabriel after releasing 2,019 ASN to join Komcad at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Monday (13/4). The opening of training for ASN will be held on 22 April. Thousands of ASN were released today to six military education institutions (lemdik) for the next stage. The six lemdik are at Rindam Jaya, Pasmar 1 Cilandak, Wingdik 500 Atang Senjaya, Pusdikkes Kramat Jati, Puskom Bela Negara Rumpin, and Halim Perdanakusuma. At these six lemdik, the thousands of ASN will undergo physical, psychological, and ideological mental data collection from 13 April to 17 April. Gabriel explained that the Komcad training will be held for around one and a half months. He said the Ministry of Defence will hold Komcad training for the second wave of ASN in the middle of this year. “Then it’s already planned this year, 4,000 ASN to be prepared, which we’ve mapped out their education to be done in two waves. Each wave 2,000. So this first wave finishes, then we’ll prepare in the middle of the year towards the end of the year another 2,000,” he said. The Head of the Komcad Centre of the National Reserve Agency, Brigadier General Hengki Yuda, explained that these 2,019 ASN have passed the administrative examination and health check process. In the health examination, some ASN also did not pass the selection. “The number of participants who underwent health checks was 2,115 people, with 2,019 passing to the next selection. Failed 96 people,” said Hengki.
