Komatsu Indonesia almost doubles sales

JAKARTA: PT Komatsu Indonesia, a unit of Japan's Komatsu Ltd.,
said sales in the nine months ending Dec. 31 had risen 97 percent
from a year earlier.

Komatsu Indonesia's sales rose to Rp 1.1 trillion (US$118
million) from Rp 558.3 billion, the Jakarta-based company said in
an e-mailed statement. It sold 1,005 units of heavy equipment in
that period, 76 percent more than a year earlier.

In December, the company sold 114 units of heavy equipment,
Komatsu Indonesia said, without providing comparative figures.

Komatsu Indonesia's shares, which rose 127 percent last year,
increased by Rp 300, or 8.6 percent, to Rp 3,800 on Jan. 7. --
