Gresik, East Java - The President Director of PT Mega Global Food Industry (Kokola Group), Richard Cahadi, stated that the company is targeting the United States market as a step in export expansion amid global uncertainties.

According to him, market diversification is an important strategy, especially amid geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East that affects global trade. He sees export opportunities to the US becoming increasingly open.

“As I said earlier, the opportunity is actually there. For the US, (export opportunities) to the USA should be even greater,” said Richard when met during a media visit in Gresik, East Java.

He explained that efforts to penetrate this market will be carried out by approaching potential buyers at Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, scheduled for October. In addition, the company also plans to explore opportunities through trade exhibitions in the US.

As a global-standard biscuit and wafer producer, Kokola Group currently exports its products to more than 55 countries. Some major export destinations include Australia, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines.

Richard emphasised that cost competitiveness is a crucial factor in export expansion. In this regard, financing support from the Indonesia Export Financing Agency (LPEI) is considered very helpful.

He explained that LPEI through the Special Export Assignment (PKE) programme can provide financing assistance from upstream to downstream, starting from production capital to post-shipment financing. This scheme helps maintain the company’s cash flow while increasing competitiveness in the global market.

On the same occasion, the Director of Business Implementation II of Indonesia Eximbank, Sulaeman, affirmed that they will continue to maintain national export performance amid global geopolitical dynamics.

He said LPEI will continue various programmes, including PKE, and increase education for debtors so they can understand geopolitical developments and adjust market strategies.

To date, LPEI has nine PKE programmes, consisting of six programme-based PKE and three project-based PKE.
