Koja land appropriation

Koja land appropriation

JAKARTA (JP): The appropriation of land to make way for the construction of a shipping container terminal in Koja, North Jakarta, will be completed one year ahead of schedule.

Sri Rahardjo, development head for the terminal project, told Antara yesterday that the land appropriation was originally scheduled for completion in March 1996.

"But as of this month, 76 percent of the land has been appropriated, so we are optimistic that all of the land will be appropriated by March of this year," Sri Rahardjo said.

He attributed this to the efficient compensation process that paid residents quickly. "All residents can get their compensation money at any time." (bas)
