Koja Explore 2026 Drives Creative Economy and Community Creativity
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta City Government has stated that the Koja Explore 2026 event is capable of driving the community’s economy while serving as a space for citizen creativity through the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the development of the creative economy in the region.
“We appreciate all parties who have contributed to the success of this activity,” said the Deputy Mayor of North Jakarta, Fredy Setiawan, during the opening of Koja Explore 2026 at the Rawa Badak Selatan Stadium, Koja District, Jakarta, on Sunday.
He noted that Koja Explore serves as a tangible example of synergy between the government and the community, expressing gratitude to all community components that have cooperated to ensure the event runs smoothly.
“Hopefully, activities such as this can continue to be held in the future,” he said.
According to him, the Koja region possesses a strong community diversity with a well-maintained spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong).
The event also provides numerous benefits, such as strengthening social ties between residents, encouraging the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and providing a creative space for the younger generation.
He also emphasised the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness during the event.
He urged the public not to litter and to begin habituating waste separation at the source.
“My message is, let us maintain environmental cleanliness. Reduce the use of single-use plastics and get into the habit of sorting waste from home,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the event, Abdullah Ali, explained that Koja Explore 2026 is organised by the Village Consultative Institutions (LMK) across the Koja District in collaboration with the community, with the aim of strengthening togetherness and encouraging the growth of the creative economy.
While the first edition focused on building the foundations of collaboration, this year’s event highlights the local potential possessed by the people of Koja.
He mentioned that various activities are featured in the event, such as mass circumcisions, MSME product exhibitions, interactive discussions, and musical entertainment to attract public interest.
“This activity serves as a platform to explore the potential of the creative economy, arts, and culture, while simultaneously increasing environmental awareness,” he said.
He expressed hope that the event would not merely remain an annual occurrence but could serve as an initial step in driving sustainable collaboration and innovation in the Koja area.
“Through Koja Explore 2026, it is hoped that the community will become increasingly active in regional development and be able to create an advanced, creative environment while maintaining cleanliness,” he concluded.
